Machinist

Shifts: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd

Salary: $27 - $33 BOE

Responsibilities:

1. Interpret blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions, tolerances, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
2. Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions and reference points on materials or workpieces as guides for machining.
3. Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines to machine parts as required.
4. Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining; adjust machine controls as necessary.
5. Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and ongoing needs.
6. Complete production and quality logs to document actions.
7. Contribute to organizational goals by taking ownership of tasks and exploring opportunities to add value.
8. Verify that finished work conforms to drawing specifications.
9. Set up and operate machines on trial runs to verify accuracy of settings or programmed data.
10. Meet production goals regarding cycle time, quantity, and quality.
11. Ensure the workstation is clean, organized, and free of hazardous materials.
