Job summary

Barry-Wehmiller is seeking a Machinist to fabricate parts for production units under general supervision. You will read blueprints, set up and operate lathes, mills, grinders and drills, and maintain safe, efficient work practices.

The role requires basic education, ability to work with measuring tools, and a proactive, self-motivated attitude. You will work with a team, identify quality issues, and keep a clean, organized workspace in a lean manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Read and understand basic drawings and schematics.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices safely.
• Follow written and verbal instructions and maintain quality.
• Work independently under supervision and as part of a team.
• Develop basic understanding of lean principles and shop best practices.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and schematics for production parts.
• Set up and operate lathes, mills, grinders and drills.
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized work area with 7S discipline.
• Inspect parts and report defects or deviations to supervisor.
• Assist higher-level machinists with fabrication tasks as needed.
