Job Description

Position Summary: Machine parts to print, operate and perform offsets on Mazaks CNC mills. Familiar with GD&T and machine shop prints. Inspects all parts for conformance to specifications. Maintains cleanliness and order in work area. Notifies supervision of any problems or delays. Performs all other duties as assigned. CNC O.D. grinding experience and manual lathes/mills experience are a plus.

Responsibilities/Duties

• Start machine, change tooling, make basic offsets.
• Use precision measuring tools, work from drawings or setup notes.
• Setup a family of CNC machines and program them independently (e.g., CNC lathes, mills, grinders).
• Have basic knowledge of speeds and feeds.
• Program machines in various departments.
• Use Mazatrol programming.
• Create fixtures and collaborate with engineering for documentation.
• Knowledge of SAP.

Education/Experience

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 2 years of Mazak programming experience on controls such as T+, Fusion, MT PRO, M32, M+, Fusion, Matrix.
• At least 2 years programming CNC grinders.
• 3 years in a machine shop environment.
• Ability to interpret safety rules, manuals, and instructions.
• Ability to identify issues and take corrective action.
• Detail-oriented and quality-focused.
• Motivated with a sense of urgency.
• Capable of multi-tasking and operating multiple machines.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Word is preferred.

Personal Protective Equipment

• Safety glasses and steel/safety-toed boots are required.
• Other PPE as needed.
• Ear plugs in the cleanup area.

Work Environment

• Manufacturing plant environment.
• Exposure to moving parts, odors, hydraulic fluids, noise, dust, heat, cold, chemicals.
