As a Machinist, you will program, set-up, adjust, and operate manual and/or Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machining centers, lathes, and milling machines where set-up, detail, and operating procedures are prescribed. Manual machining involves creating special one-off parts or prototypes.

As a Machinist, you will program, set-up, adjust, and operate manual and/or CNC machining centers, lathes, and milling machines, following prescribed procedures. Manual machining involves creating special one-off or prototype parts.

Job Responsibilities
  • Study blueprints, sketches, drawings, and specifications.
  • Set-up bore gauges and other inspection equipment.
  • Complete all required paperwork, including labor reporting and documentation of quality control and material movement.
  • Work safely and maintain a clean work area with high standards of housekeeping.
  • Perform preventative maintenance activities on machinery and equipment.
  • Perform manual and CNC machining under supervision.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (E.D.)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
  • Knowledge of machining practices and techniques
  • Basic mechanical principles
  • Shop mathematics
  • Blueprint reading
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, reach, sit, lift medium to heavy objects (up to 50 pounds frequently, 100 pounds maximum), and demonstrate visual and manual dexterity
  • Knowledge of CNC controls
  • Forklift operation experience
  • Knowledge of precision measuring tools
Working Conditions
  • Typically Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Weekend hours as necessary
