Job Summary

Following specific and general instructions, tool designs, drawings, standard practices, and recognized methods, utilizes expertise in laying out metal and non-metal stock, setting up and operating complex tools. Performs milling material removal operations. May require assistance/input from higher-level Machinists and may work with engineering to resolve problems and develop new processes and/or procedures.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Ensure the company's commitment to maintaining a safe workplace and protecting the environment through adherence to company policies and government regulations.
  2. Lays out metal and non-metal stock. Performs minor to complex setups relevant to their work center and/or operations. Capable of operating manual and/or CNC multi-axis machining centers and tools performing functions such as milling, drilling, grinding, or turning operations.
  3. Identifies and evaluates patterns prior to material removal, utilizing predetermined operation sheets to meet customer specifications.
  4. Checks all work to ensure quality standards are maintained and all specifications and procedures are followed. Able to pass OAP exam.
  5. Records operating parameters accurately and legibly in manufacturing documentation to ensure proper tracking of work-in-process, inventories, schedules, and labor expenditures.
  6. Maintains a clean work environment according to 5S principles, complying with company, customer, and government standards.
  7. Assists in developing and maintaining a business culture supporting the company's objectives, focusing on cost, quality, process, schedule, and people.
