Job summary

Parker Hannifin Corporation seeks a Machinist B to join the R&O team in Ogden, UT. The position offers a 2nd shift (Mon-Thu, 2:30 pm–12:30 am) with opportunities for growth, working with NC machining centers from blueprints and planning sheets.

Primary duties include setting up, operating, and troubleshooting machines while maintaining quality and lean initiatives. The successful candidate will read blueprints, perform precision machining, and inspect parts to meet customer requirements.

Qualifications

• Read and follow blueprints, specifications, and verbal instructions.
• Knowledge of machine shop mathematics, including trigonometry.
• Apply lean initiatives.
• Demonstrates effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, as well as the ability to work in a team environment.
• Basic computer skills including ability to use job specific software.
• Participates in goal setting, performance feedback, and self-development activities.

Responsibilities

• Interpret customer requirements from blueprints, complex drawings, engineering specifications, quality directives, charts, sketches, and verbal instructions.
• Set up and operate a variety of machine tools to optimize process capability; adapt tooling to accomplish results; use standard production machines, materials and tooling.
• Perform complex machining operations requiring close tolerances and unusual contours.
• Operate multiple machines efficiently, possibly in parallel.
• Troubleshoot and resolve machining problems.
• Machining and verifying parts to customer requirements with high quality and efficiency.
• Inspect parts using gauges, calipers, micrometers, or CMM when required.
• Apply advanced shop math for tool path calculations.
• Contribute to lean improvements in the work area.
• Routinely maintain equipment for cleanliness and reliability.
