Job summary

Valero Energy is seeking a Machinist Apprentice – Intermediate at the Port Arthur refinery. The role focuses on installing, inspecting, and maintaining rotating equipment, pumps, and associated machinery, with hands-on use of hand and power tools.

Candidates should have basic craft math, be able to set up work sites, and work on-site at Port Arthur. Qualified applicants will have a high school diploma or GED, and at least 2 years in rotating equipment or related machining fields.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 2 years rotating equipment experience or related machining field.
• Willing to work on-site at Valero Port Arthur refinery.

Responsibilities

• Installs, inspects, and maintains rotating equipment at the refinery.
• Inspects and performs maintenance on pumps.
• Adjusts and aligns machinery and equipment.
• Uses hand and power tools to complete tasks and set up the work site.
• Demonstrates basic craft math and knowledge of lubricants, bearings, seals, and drive systems.
