Position Summary:

Northrop Grumman is seeking an experiencedMachinist 3to support operations at our Bethpage, NY facility. The Machinist will be responsible for setting up and operating a variety of manual and CNC machine tools to produce precision metal parts to exact specifications. This role requires advanced machining skills, blueprint reading, and a solid understanding of MasterCAM and HAAS CNC equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate various machine tools including lathes, milling machines, grinders, and planers.
• Interpret complex blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications.
• Lay out, mark, and machine metal stock to create precision parts.
• Develop and write CNC programs using MasterCAM software.
• Select appropriate tools, cutters, and machine settings for optimal performance.
• Perform standard shop computations related to dimensions, tooling, feeds, and speeds.
• Fit and assemble precision parts into mechanical equipment.
• Monitor and verify part quality according to statistical process control methods.
• Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards at all times.

Basic Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent trade school completion.
• Proficient in MasterCAM programming software.
• Extensive experience operating HAAS vertical and horizontal milling machines.
• Strong background in precision machining to exacting tolerances.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Completion of a formal apprenticeship or equivalent on-the-job training.
• Prior experience in aircraft part fabrication or aerospace manufacturing.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: Up to $45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:

• 10 hour shift
