Job summary

Midway Products Group, INC. on the first shift seeks a skilled machinist to read blueprints, plan setup, and operate a range of machine shop tools to tight tolerances in Findlay, Ohio.

You will perform toolroom setup and testing, make repairs when parts are unavailable, and inspect work with precision measuring tools. Team collaboration and safety are core expectations in this role.

Qualifications

• Ability to read blueprints and interpret specifications.
• Experience with CAD/ EDM software.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints to plan setup and operation.
• Plan, set up and operate machine shop tools to produce parts to tolerances.
• Operate tool room machinery safely during the build process.
• Set up and test toolroom equipment, test for mechanical issues and correct problems.
• Repair parts if not commercially available or from inventory.
• Use precision measuring and gaging tools for inspection before starting work.
• Repair, rebuild or overhaul equipment from blueprints and manuals.
• Collaborate with other trades such as tool and die, maintenance, electricians.
• Adhere to respectful conduct and perform other essential functions as assigned.

First Shift

• Reads and interprets blue prints to plan set up and operation of all types of machine shop tools.
• Plans, sets up and operates typical machine shop machine tools, producing parts to tolerances and company specifications. Uses typical machinist's hand tools.
• Operates tool room machinery in a safe manner during build process.
• Performs set up and testing of toolroom equipment under power, testing for mechanical difficulties, tracing to their sources and correcting problem.
• Makes repair parts if not commercially available nor available from company central inventory stores.
• Uses full range of precision measuring and gaging tools to perform inspection before start of job. Performs repair, rebuilding or overhaul work of manufacturing or service equipment from blueprints, company manufacturing manuals, and written or verbal instructions.
• Frequently works with other tradespersons such as tool and die, maintenance, electricians, etc.
• Treats all other team members with respect and dignity.
• Performs other essential functions as assigned.
