Snap-on Machinist position on 2nd shift is based in a hands-on manufacturing environment, focusing on CNC and manual machining to produce high-quality, close-tolerance parts and tooling. The role emphasizes following procedures, accuracy, and safety in a fast-paced shop.

Hourly rate is $21.06–$24.92 with mandatory overtime, and duties include setup, operation, and basic troubleshooting, plus collaboration with the team on lean manufacturing initiatives.

Qualifications

• Experience operating CNC and manual machining equipment in a hands-on manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints in a production setting.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and technical background for close-tolerance parts and tooling.

Responsibilities

• Operate and set up CNC and manual machining equipment under supervision.
• Troubleshoot basic tooling and machining issues as skills develop.
• Support the production of close-tolerance fixtures, tools, and gages.
• Read and interpret blueprints or technical drawings (training provided).
• Use precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers) to inspect parts (training provided).
• Follow work instructions, standard operating procedures, and safety guidelines.
• Communicate production or equipment issues verbally or in writing to supervisors and team members, including cross-shift operators.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Perform basic routine machine maintenance as trained.
• Assist with continuous improvement and lean manufacturing efforts as skills develop.

The Machinist is responsible for setting up and operating precision CNC and manual machining equipment in a hands-on manufacturing environment. This role is well-suited for experienced machinists with strong mechanical aptitude and a solid technical background. In this position, you will support the production of high-quality, close-tolerance parts and tooling, ensuring all work meets exact specifications and quality standards while playing a key role in maintaining efficient production processes in the workplace.

Hourly Rate

$21.06 - $24.92

2 nd Shift Available

Monday – Friday

1:30pm – 9:30pm

Must be available to work mandatory overtime.
