Job summary

MKS Instruments in Colorado is seeking a Machinist 1 to join the machine shop team. You will partner with Engineering, Quality Assurance and technical operations to drive productivity, quality and daily efficacies, reporting to the Machine Shop Supervisor.

Responsibilities include planning, layout, setup and operation of major machines, reading blueprints and process sheets, inspecting tolerances and identifying minor malfunctions while adhering to safety standards.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of related experience.
• Machine shop experience, ability to add and subtract decimals.

A Day in Your Life at MKS:

As a machinist 1 at MKS Instruments, you will partner with the machine shop team, Engineering, Quality Assurance, and the technical operations teams. You will be responsible for productivity, quality, and meeting the expected daily efficacies. In this role, you will report to the Machine shop supervisor.

You Will Make an Impact By:

• Assignment planning, layout, set-up, operating and making tool adjustments for a variety of major conventional or automatic machines
• Works from blueprints, process sheets and sketches to perform production tasks which may include the cutting and shaping of metal to precision dimensions
• Checks and inspects machining operations against specified tolerances
• May identify and repair minor machine malfunctions

Preferred Skills:

• 1+ year of related experience

Physical Demands & Working Conditions:

• Perform activities such as sitting, standing, or typing for extended periods of time
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Occasionally moves/positions objects up to 30 pounds
• Ability to remain in a stationary position for 60% of the time
• Frequently positions self to perform tasks and positions objects below, at, and above shoulder level
• Must be able to communicate information and ideas so others will understand
• Dedication to safety to mitigate hazards including handling mechanical and electrical hardware, high voltage, gas, water, and heat

Compensation and Benefits:

Hourly Pay Range: $16.70 - 27.83 USD Hourly. This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law. At MKS, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role.

Bonus:

This position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, in an amount to be determined by MKS [or as applicable].
