Job summary

Envisage Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced Machinist in Kansas for aerospace manufacturing. You will set up and operate 3-axis and 4-axis CNC mills and lathes to produce high-tolerance parts from aluminum, titanium, and stainless steel.

You will inspect parts in-process using micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, and bore gauges, interpret complex drawings with GD&T symbols, and adjust tooling and offsets to maintain consistency over long runs.

Qualifications

• Experience operating 3-axis and 4-axis CNC mills and lathes.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T symbols.
• Proficient in in-process inspection with precision measuring tools.

Job description

• Machine Operation: Set up and operate 3-axis and 4-axis CNC mills and lathes to produce high-tolerance aerospace components from aluminum, titanium, and stainless steel
• Precision Measurement: Perform in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, and bore gauges to ensure parts meet tight tolerances.
• Blueprint Interpretation: Interpret complex engineering drawings and CAD models, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) symbols, to determine precise machining sequences.
• Tooling & Offsets: Monitor tool wear and perform manual offset adjustments and tool changes to maintain part consistency across long production runs.
• Code Proficiency: Basic troubleshooting of G-code and M-code at the controller to resolve minor program errors and optimize cycle times

Preferred:

• Ideally have 2+ years experience as a Machinist
• Ideally have experience with 4-axis machinery
• Competent setting and operating CNC Machinery
