Job summary

GE Vernova seeks an experienced machinist to perform precise milling, turning, drilling and related operations from detailed drawings. You will work in a lean team environment, supporting multiple disciplines and lean initiatives like kaizen and 5S.

Responsibilities include working from drawings to tight electrical and mechanical tolerances, participating in continuous improvement, and maintaining a positive, collaborative attitude within the team.

Qualifications

• Experience setting up and operating manual and CNC machines.
• Ability to read prints, select appropriate tooling, and inspect tolerances.
• Capable of following processes and safety procedures on the shop floor.

Essential Responsibilities Work from drawings, sketches, and other instructions to perform machining operations such as mill, turn, face, bore, groove, contour, dovetail, drill, tap, etc. to precise electrical and mechanical tolerances

Participate in kaizen events, 5S efforts, and other lean activities as needed to support continuous improvement.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Associate's Degree in a Machining discipline and a minimum of 1 year general machine shop experience in set-up and operation of a variety of manual and CNC machines: including mills, drills, grinders, broaches, turret lathes, horizontal bore, EDM, engine lathes, etc.
• OR High School Diploma/GED with a Machining certification from an accredited university with courses that cover: Mathematics, CNC Milling, CNC Lathes, Print Reading, Machine Tooling, G&M code, FANUC controls, and hands on machine application (i.e. capstone, shop hours) and a minimum of 1 year general machine shop experience in set-up and operation of a variety of manual and CNC machines: including mills, drills, grinders, broaches, turret lathes, horizontal bore, EDM, engine lathes, etc.
• OR High School Diploma / GED with a Journeyman's card with completion of a Machining apprentice program and a minimum of 1 year general machine shop experience in set-up and operation of a variety of manual and CNC machines: including mills, drills, grinders, broaches, turret lathes, horizontal bore, EDM, engine lathes, etc.

The hourly pay range for this position is $37.07 to $41.88. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for contractually negotiated general wage increases and COLA increases. This position is eligible for a $1.00 per hour Night Shift Bonus. *The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
