Summary – basic function of the role

The primary function of this position is the manufacture of product utilizing equipment in the cell. Major responsibilities include setting up equipment, operating equipment, and operating multiple pieces of equipment in cycle. The products are usually standardized by design and function, and methods applied are generally prescribed or standardized. This includes the coordination of resources required to complete the tasks identified. Other specific items may include, but are not limited to, assisting with the operation of equipment in other cells as needed and positively influencing Lean efforts throughout the organization.

Shift

Monday‑Thursday; 2nd shift 2:00 PM‑12:00 PM or 3rd shift 8:00 PM‑6:00 AM.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Ability to efficiently set up and operate all equipment in the cell.
• Operates or performs set‑ups for other processes in the cell during controlled manufacturing cycles.
• Ability to interpret process sheets, prints and sketches of a part to determine manufacturing processes, dimensional specifications, set‑up, and operating requirements.
• Recognizes defective parts and takes necessary steps to correct the print, process or program.
• Inspects workmanship of current and succeeding processes for any deviations from the print, process, or program and notifies proper personnel to assist in correcting the problem.
• Responsible for reporting all injuries, regardless of significance.
• Observes and complies with all company safety procedures and training programs.
• Maintains a clean and organized work environment.
• Responsible for moving product to the next specified process on the routing sheet.

• Basic computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Excel, Word and applicable company business system.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED, one to three months of related experience and/or training. Cell certification required as described in the Hydratight Certification Matrix.

Physical Demands

Occasionally ascending or descending ladders, stairs, moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments. Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods. Moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions. Repeating motions that may include wrists, hands and/or fingers. Light work includes moving objects up to 20 pounds.

Work Environment

Employee will be in a manufacturing environment, near moving mechanical parts, high platforms or other areas that are high above ground and in limited access areas. Exposure to noise levels may vary depending on the location.
