Job summary

Woodward Inc. in Santa Clarita, CA is seeking experienced machinists for an EDM-focused contract role through December 2027. You will set up and operate wire or sinker EDM machines to produce precision components, ensuring tight tolerances and adherence to specifications.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of relevant machining experience, including setup of EDM equipment.

Contract up to December 2027 (1.3 years)

Join a leading aerospace manufacturer and put your precision machining skills to work.

Woodward is looking for experienced machinists to join its team in Santa Clarita, CA, working on precision components where accuracy, quality and attention to detail are essential.

This is an excellent opportunity for hands-on machinists with experience in Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM), including wire or sinker EDM. Whether your background is in aerospace, automotive, medical device manufacturing or tool and die, we'd love to hear from you.

What you’ll be doing as a Machinist:

• Setting up and operating wire EDM or sinker EDM equipment to machine precision components.
• Using electrical discharge machining processes to remove material from conductive metals and achieve accurate component geometries.
• Working to engineering specifications and maintaining tight tolerances.
• Monitoring machining operations and making adjustments to achieve the required dimensions and surface finishes.
• Inspecting finished components to ensure they meet quality standards.

What we’re looking for in the Machinist:

• At least 3 years of relevant machining experience, including setup experience.
• Hands-on experience operating either wire EDM or sinker EDM equipment.
• A strong understanding of EDM machining processes and working with conductive metals.
• Experience working to tight tolerances and engineering specifications.
• Experience in aerospace, automotive, medical device manufacturing or tool and die.

• Competitive pay: $34-$51.24 per hour, depending on experience and skill level.
• Regular overtime opportunities: Earn time and a half.
• Shift differentials: Additional $1.50 per hour for second shift or $1.75 per hour for third shift.
• Consistent schedules: Second shift, Monday-Friday, 3:30 p.m.-midnight; or third shift, Sunday-Thursday, 11 p.m.-7 a.m.
