Responsibilities

• Analyzing specification charts, samples and drawings to gain a thorough understanding of requirements.
• Developing a plan of action to manufacture parts according to specifications.
• Measuring and marking raw materials needed to manufacture parts.
• Setting up equipment required to complete each step of the manufacturing plan.
• Operating equipment to carry out each step correctly.
• Monitoring the production process and intervening when problems arise.
• Inspecting finished parts for flaws and defects.
• Maintaining equipment located throughout the machine shop.

The company offers free pick-up and delivery on repairs, with no mileage charges, and provides 24-hour service with time-and-a-half rates after normal business hours and on weekends. CPS services and repairs all types of water and wastewater pumps, including submersible, dry well, positive displacement, centrifugal, and vertical turbine models, and offers rebuilds or replacement equipment as needed. The company also provides preventative maintenance programs, custom machining, gear reducer and blower rebuilds, mechanical seals (new and rebuilt), valves, AC/DC motors, dynamic balancing, epoxy coatings, and crane service.

Machinist’s Duties and Responsibilities

To make parts that fully meet all required specifications. Typically perform the following job duties:

• Analyzing specification charts, samples and drawings to gain a thorough understanding of requirements
