System One in Richmond, VA seeks a Machinist/Machine Operator for a contract-to-hire role. Onsite, 40 hours/week, first or second shift (6am-2:30pm or 3pm-11:30pm).
You will operate CNC, punch press, expander and other metalworking equipment to produce high‑precision heat exchanger parts, following blueprints and routers. Candidates should have proven mechanical aptitude, experience with mechanical equipment, ability to read drawings, use calipers, and lift 50 pounds.

Ability to work 1st or 2nd shift
Proven mechanical aptitude
Successful experience working with mechanical equipment
Background in hands on troubleshooting with machinery
Ability to use measuring devices (calipers, tape measures, etc.)
Team player interested in improving the overall performance of the equipment and the team
Ability to lift 50 pounds
Able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time and stoop and/or bend frequently
Able to follow directions
Able to interpret drawings, routers and special notes once trained
These machines use high precision custom tooling for heat exchanger manufacturing
We operate in a fast-paced environment with frequent change overs
Experience with CNC, Fin Punch Press and/or Expander
Operate metal working equipment to consistently and efficiently to produce quality parts
Use blueprints and router information to set-up tooling and machines accurately
Perform daily preventative maintenance tasks
As an active team member in the area, participate in continuous improvement activities to improve safety, quality, productivity and tooling life
Safely use electric, pneumatic, floor and hand tools
