Ichor Systems has an immediate opening for a Machinist 3 at our Osakis, MN facility. The ideal candidate will bring strong machining experience, a commitment to quality, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced production environment.

You will set up and operate mills, lathes, and related equipment, read blueprints, and verify part dimensions with precision tools. This position offers competitive pay, shift differentials, and a robust benefits package.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of machining experience.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and use measuring tools.
• Experience with CNC setups and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Study drawings and determine dimensions, tolerances, and setup requirements.
• Set up and operate machines such as mills, lathes, grinders and shapers.
• Measure finished parts with calipers, micrometers, and depth micrometers; verify with CMM where applicable.
• Collaborate with engineers and production to resolve machining issues.
• Complete paperwork and computer data entry related to jobs.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
• Measures, marks, and scribes' dimensions and reference points on material or workpiece as guides for subsequent machining.
• Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and shapers.
• Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.
• Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.
• Verifies conformance of finished workpiece to specifications using various measuring tools such as: calipers, micrometers, and depth micrometers. Familiarity with CMM, GD&T, and SPC.
• Sets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.
• Confers with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.
• Complete the necessary paperwork and computer entry steps.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Desired Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Can perform basic set-ups on multiple machines.
• Ability to train CNC Operators and Machinists I on routine tasks.
• Developing proficiency with complex setups.
• Ability to perform intermediate troubleshooting procedures.
• Proficient with part inspection techniques (comparator, profilometer etc.).
• 2-year machining degree preferred.
• Desired Education, Certifications and Experience.
• Must have 5+ years of experience.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.

For candidates based in Minnesota: The pay range for this position is $22.26 - 37.84 per hour plus 15% shift differential.

Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure, and relevant education or training.
