Job summary

OTC Industrial Technologies is hiring a Manual Machinist in Kentucky. The role focuses on fabricating, assembling, and maintaining shop equipment, with emphasis on precision measurement and adherence to specifications.

The ideal candidate has 1–3+ years of manual machining experience, can read technical manuals and blueprints, and is capable of working independently while following safety guidelines. This full-time position requires flexibility for OT on weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• 1–3+ years of manual machining experience.
• Experience using precision measuring tools and equipment.
• Ability to interpret technical manuals and blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate, erect, install, and maintain shop machinery.
• Measure and verify dimensions using micrometers and veneer calipers.
• Set controls and input commands for machine tools.
• Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on equipment.
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment and work with minimal supervision.

Competitive Pay:

This position offers an hourly wage starting at $23/hr plus, pay can be higher depending on experience and qualifications. Relocation Assistance equial to one months salary avaialable.

What You'll Do:

• Fabricate, erect, install, and maintain shop machinery
• Calculate dimensions and tolerance using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and veneer calipers
• Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, machines and materials onto machines
• Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process
• Machine parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers or grinders
• Measure, examine and test completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments
• Set controls to regulate machining, or enter commands to retrieve, input or edit computerized machine control media
• Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on shop equipment
• Continued education and training to meet the needs of an evolving service industry.
• Capable of working independently with little to no supervision.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment, complying with company and industry safety regulations.

What You'll Need:

• High school diploma or GED required; Technical diploma in related area of study, such as Precision Machining, preferred.
• 1-3+ Years of manual machining experience
• Experience using precision measuring tools and equipment
• Ability to perform preventive maintenance according to published guidelines.
• Ability to interpret technical manuals.
• Industrial shop environment with exposure to noise, heavy equipment, and cutting fluids
• Requires standing, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and manual dexterity
• Availability to work shifts outside of normal work schedule, including required OT on weekends and holidays.
• Proficient computer skills (MS Office; Outlook, Excel and Word) and ability to operate windows-based programs from a tablet, computer, or smartphone.
