Job summary

OTC Industrial Technologies is seeking a Machinist in Lincoln to fabricate, install, and maintain shop machinery while ensuring parts meet exact specifications. You will use micrometers, vernier calipers, and other precision tools to measure and verify tolerances, and you will control machine feeds, speeds, and CNC media as required.

The ideal candidate has 1–3+ years of manual machining experience, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work OT on

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; Technical diploma in Precision Machining preferred.
  • 1-3+ years of manual machining experience.
  • Experience using precision measuring tools and equipment.
  • Ability to perform preventive maintenance according to published guidelines.
  • Ability to interpret technical manuals.
  • Industrial shop environment with exposure to noise, heavy equipment, and cutting fluids.
  • Requires standing, lifting up to 50 lbs, and manual dexterity.
  • Availability to work shifts outside of normal work schedule, including OT on weekends and holidays.
  • Proficient computer skills (MS Office; Outlook, Excel and Word) and ability to operate Windows-based programs from a tablet, computer, or smartphone.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate, erect, install, and maintain shop machinery.
  • Calculate dimensions and tolerances using Math and instruments such as micrometers and calipers.
  • Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, machines and materials onto machines.
  • Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.
  • Machine parts to specifications using lathes, milling machines, shapers or grinders.
  • Measure, examine and test completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments.
  • Set controls to regulate machining, or enter commands to retrieve, input or edit computerized machine control media.
  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on shop equipment.
  • Continued education and training to meet the needs of an evolving service industry.

Competitive Pay:

This position offers an hourly wage starting at $23/hr +, depending on experience and qualifications.

What You'll Do

  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment, complying with company and industry safety regulations.
