Job summary

Amphenol Communications Solutions (ACS), a division of Amphenol Corporation, is seeking a Machinist in Nashua, NH to operate vertical milling machines, lathes, and surface grinders to produce precision parts and develop Prototrak programs. You will interpret drawings, set up fixtures, monitor processes, and perform in-process and final inspections while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Prototrak programming and CAM software experience are preferred, along with a background in aluminum

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED; 2-year machine tool degree preferred.
  • Experience with precision machining equipment and setup/operation of CNC mills and lathes.
  • Ability to read GD&T and interpret drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Create Prototrak programs for machines including milling and lathes.
  • Operate manual milling, drilling, turning, and grinding.
  • Inspect parts in-process and final to ensure tolerance.
  • Maintain machinery and perform minor repairs or adjustments.
  • Adhere to safety and quality standards.

Position: Machinist
Location: Nashua, NH

This is an opportunity for a Machinist to join a global technology company that is the leader in the high-speed interconnect industry. You will be an integral part of a team responsible for new product development. In this role you’ll be supporting various engineering teams in the development, testing, and manufacturing of new products. These teams include mechanical design, signal integrity, mechanical integrity, product, and process engineering.

Position Summary:

This individual will be responsible for operation of a variety machinery including vertical milling machines, horizontal lathes, and surface grinders to produce a wide variety of precision parts. This individual will develop Prototrak programs, design fixtures, set-up workpieces, and operate related machinery to perform a complex series of progressive machining operations to meet precise tolerance and finish requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create Prototrak programs for a variety of machines, including milling machines and lathes.
  • Operate manual machinery for milling, drilling, turning, and grinding of a variety of materials.
  • Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and related verbal instructions.
  • Monitor machining processes and perform in-process and final inspection of finished parts.
  • Maintain machinery and conduct minor repairs or adjustments.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
Skills & Requirements:
  • Experience with precision machining equipment.
  • Experience with setup and operation of CNC mills, lathes, and use of related CAM software preferred.
  • Familiarity with machining a variety of materials such as aluminum, tool steel, stainless steel, copper, and other alloys.
  • Strong attention to detail and understanding of tolerances.
  • Ability to read and interpret GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2-year Machine Tool degree or certificate preferred.
  • Programming experience using Prototrak conversational controls.
  • Experience using solid modeling tools (Creo, SolidWorks, etc.)
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to self-start and work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and maintain equipment.
