Job summary

OTC Industrial Technologies in Kingman, AZ is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to support precision repair, rebuild, and fabrication work. You will independently set up and operate CNC mills and lathes, read blueprints and GD&T, and ensure parts meet tight tolerances in a job shop environment.

The role requires several years of CNC experience, proficiency with precision measuring tools, and ability to troubleshoot programs and tooling.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with machining training preferred.
• Several years of CNC machining experience in a job shop, repair shop, or similar environment.
• Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, drawings, and technical specifications.
• Proficiency with precision measuring equipment and machining calculations.
• Experience with G-code and M-code.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC mills and CNC lathes for one-off, repair, and low-volume production work.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications.
• Use precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, depth micrometers, and other inspection tools.
• Perform machine setups including tooling selection, workholding, offsets, and part alignment.
• Calculate and adjust speeds, feeds, depths of cut, and tooling based on material and machining conditions.
• Read, edit, and troubleshoot CNC programs at the machine as required.
• Verify first-piece and in-process dimensions and make offsets or program adjustments to maintain tolerance.
• Machine a variety of materials and repair components where existing conditions may require field measurements, reverse engineering, or machining from limited information.
• Troubleshoot tooling, setup, finish, dimensional, and machine-related issues with minimal assistance.
• Maintain accurate job travelers, inspection records, and required quality documentation.
• Perform basic CNC machine maintenance, housekeeping, and daily equipment checks.
• Work with Engineering, Quality, planners, and other shop personnel to resolve drawing, tolerance, and machining questions.
• Support setup and machine-time estimates when needed for quoting and job planning.
• Follow established inspection hold points and stop work when a part or process does not meet requirements.
• Assist with training and mentoring less-experienced machinists as needed.
• Manual machining experience on engine lathes, mills, radial drills, or similar equipment is a plus.

We are looking for a skilled CNC Machinist to support precision machining operations across complex repair, rebuild, and fabrication work. This role is ideal for an experienced machinist who can independently set up and operate CNC equipment, read and interpret drawings, hold tight tolerances, troubleshoot machining issues, and consistently produce quality parts in a job shop environment.

Competitive Pay: This position offersanhourly wage starting at $30+/hr, depending on experience and qualifications.

What You'll Need

• Strong understanding of speeds and feeds, cutting tools, materials, tolerances, surface finishes, and machining practices
• Proven ability to troubleshoot machining problems and make adjustments to produce conforming parts
