Job summary

Simpson Strong-Tie Company Inc. is seeking a highly focused operator to clean, inspect, and change over dies in alignment with the production schedule. You will feed CNC machines, operate mills and lathes, and read production drawings to support changeovers on dies.

The role requires attention to detail, basic math skills, and the ability to use calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools. A technical background and dependable attendance are essential for success on this manufacturing floor

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least a 2-year technical degree or 2 years in a technical field operating precision equipment.
• Accountability & Dependability: Ability to be at work on time, and follow instructions, policies and procedures.
• Attention to Detail: Ability to achieve thoroughness and accuracy when accomplishing a task with limited supervision.
• Mathematical Reasoning: Basic math skills with an understanding of decimal equivalents.
• Reading Comprehension: Ability to read and understand production drawings.
• Measurements: Ability to operate and read various measuring devices used to ensure quality of products.

Responsibilities

• Feeding CNC machines/ running conventional mills/lathes (50%).
• Operating Axillary equipment ex. Drill Press, Vertical Lathe (20%).
• Read and understand production drawings, standard work to aid in changeovers on dies. Learn basic surface grinding skills and proper ways to make shims. Use precision measuring devices (ex. Calipers, dial indicators...etc.) (15%).
• Any other duties required by leadership to support the plant. (15%)
