Scope/Summary

The Machinist will be responsible for planning, setup, and operation of all machine shop equipment including milling, grinding, drilling, band/chop saw, turning (lathe work), and polishing.

Job Responsibilities

1. Set up and monitor all shop machines and their processes, maintaining tolerances of +/- .002.
2. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, sketches, and instructions to meet specifications.
3. Set up and operate all manual machine shop equipment.
4. Create basic Prototrak conversational CNC programs.
5. Machine custom parts for "fit and function" without all having drawings or specifications.
6. Collaborate with departments to create prototype components, assemblies, tooling, gauges, maintenance parts, and test equipment.
7. Use measuring devices such as micrometers, calipers, pin gages, and other precision tools accurately.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; technical school preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of machining experience.
• Experience with manual, semi-automated, or automated tools and machines.
• CNC programming and CAD experience are a plus.
• Ability to machine and fabricate parts.
• Certified Welder is a plus.
• Strong safety awareness and adherence to safety protocols.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Lift up to 35 pounds.
