Location: New Baltimore, MI

Role Description

The Boring Mill Machinist verifies conformance of machined work to specifications using measuring instruments. They study blueprints, select and set tools, and perform machine operations in accordance with instructions and metal properties.

Responsibilities
  1. Follow job orders or blueprints for specifications and setups.
  2. Operate and program CNC controls using G code.
  3. Secure workpieces and operate machine controls for machining.
  4. Manage coolant flow and establish zero references.
  5. Monitor machine operations for issues.
  6. Handle workpieces manually or with equipment.
  7. Perform minor assembly tasks.
  8. Verify workpiece alignment with measurement tools.
  9. Work overtime and weekends as needed to meet quality standards.
Qualifications

Candidates should be professional, proactive, and positive, with relevant experience or training. Reasonable accommodations are provided for disabilities.

  • Ability to monitor gauges and use mathematics for problem-solving.
  • Physical ability to lift 10-15 pounds and work under pressure.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adapt to changing schedules.
Physical Demands
  • Occasional light physical activity required, with vision requirements such as close vision and depth perception.
Education

High School diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education or experience considered.
