This position is open to the public and all current city employees covered under the City’s Collective Bargaining Agreement withMachinists – Local 126 (Bargaining Unit 36). Only employees in City job titles in this bargaining unit are eligible to bid.

Under supervision, performs journey-level machinist work in the manufacturing, repair, and rebuilding of precision metal parts for the maintenance of mechanical equipment and machinery, and performs related duties as required.

Hours: 7:30AM – 3:30PM
THIS POSITION IS IN THE CAREER SERVICE
This position does not require an interview, this position requires candidates to pass a written job knowledge exam. Test results will be sent out by the Department of Human Resources after test results have been analyzed and compiled. Bid candidates who pass the test will be hired in seniority order External candidates will be hired in lottery/random order.
