Job Title: Machinist

Starting Rate of Pay: $24.20/hour

Day Shift - Monday-Friday

Job Responsibilities:
  • Set up and operate machine shop equipment and hand tools skillfully according to prints, part drawings, and specifications.
  • Perform largely repetitive work using fixtures, machine stops, and indexing devices to control critical tolerances, especially when dimensions are difficult to maintain.
  • Assist lower-level machine operators to develop skills for producing production parts to specifications.
  • Develop operation sequences, select tooling and feed rates, and work supports based on work and material characteristics when instructions are not provided.
  • Use measuring equipment to set up, operate, and check work.
  • Seek instructions and guidance on setup and operation difficulties as they arise, under general supervision.
  • Maintain simple reports on work orders, quantities produced, and repair records.
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Basic understanding and ability to follow commands in English.
  • Basic math skills, ability to use a calculator, read a tape measure, and use calipers.
