Job summary

Lynden Door is seeking a hands-on leader to join the Swing Shift as a Machining Supervisor Trainee in Lynden, WA. You will learn production planning, employee development, and performance management while driving safety, quality, and productivity on the shop floor.

You will work with experienced supervisors, gaining exposure to scheduling, coaching, and continuous improvement as you grow into a leadership role in manufacturing operations.

Qualifications

• Experience leading, training, or directing others in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to balance multiple priorities in fast-paced production.
• Strong understanding of safety, quality, and productivity on the shop floor.

Responsibilities

• Support daily production activities within assembly and woodworking operations.
• Learn to schedule workloads and execute daily production plans.
• Coordinate production activities with the opposite shift to ensure smooth operations.
• Communicate production priorities, challenges, and updates through shift handoffs and email.
• Monitor production performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Maintain and update department production schedules.
• Distribute production paperwork and ensure workflow readiness.
• Learn payroll, timecard, and attendance management processes.
• Assist with employee coaching, performance feedback, and development conversations.
• Support onboarding, training, and retraining using SOPs and TWI methods.
• Troubleshoot production, assembly, and workflow issues; collaborate with technical resources.
• Promote safe work practices and compliance with quality, safety, and LOTO procedures.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and employee engagement.

Are you a hands‑on manufacturing leader looking to take the next step in your career? Lynden Door is seeking a Machining Supervisor Trainee to join our Swing Shift team. This position is ideal for someone with manufacturing, woodworking, assembly, or production experience who has demonstrated leadership potential through training, coaching, leading projects, or directing team members.

You will work alongside experienced supervisors to learn production planning, employee development, performance management, and team leadership while helping drive safety, quality, and productivity on the shop floor.

Job Responsibilities

As a Machining Supervisor Trainee, you will:

About You

Required Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 3+ years of manufacturing, production, woodworking, assembly, or related industry experience
• Previous experience serving as a lead, trainer, mentor, team lead, or supervisor preferred
• Strong understanding of production workflows, quality standards, and workplace safety practices
• Ability to effectively prioritize work and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment
• Experience using Microsoft Office and production software systems

What We Offer

• Compensation & Benefits:
  - Wage: $25.00 - $28.00 (based on experience) (Includes $1.75 Swing Shift Premium)
