Holtec is seeking a Service Center Shop Manager to lead daily operations of a machining facility, ensuring safe, efficient, and high‑quality production. You will oversee staff, production scheduling, equipment utilization, and continuous improvement initiatives to meet customer targets.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Engineering (preferred) and 3+ years in a machine shop with supervisory responsibilities. Hybrid work options and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering preferred, or related hands‑on trade experience.
• Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in a machine shop environment, including supervisory or management responsibility.
• Proficiency in CNC programming CAM, CAD/CAM software, Mastercam, SolidWorks, CIMCO, and blueprint reading.
• Strong understanding of machining operations, metal properties, cutting tools, and loose tolerance work holding.
• Strong leadership, communication, problem solving, and conflict resolution abilities.
• Working knowledge of ASME Codes, ASNT, and NDT/NDE inspection methods preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations, staff, production schedules, safety compliance, and quality control of a machining facility.
• Manage daily production schedules, job queues, and machine allocation to meet delivery targets and minimize lead times.
• Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate supervisors, machinists, and CNC programmers; promote cross training for flexibility.
• Ensure parts meet tolerances and blueprint specifications; oversee first piece inspections and regulatory compliance.
• Enforce OSHA safety guidelines, environmental rules, and regular shop housekeeping.
• Coordinate with maintenance for preventative maintenance, repair logs, and tool inventories.
• Implement lean manufacturing practices, reduce setup/cycle times, and evaluate job profitability.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
