Job summary

Holtec International's Service Center seeks a Shop Manager to lead daily operations of a precision machining facility in Turtle Creek, PA. You will supervise staff, schedule production, allocate machines, and ensure safety, quality, and on-time delivery.

Responsibilities include implementing lean practices, mentoring supervisors and CNC programmers, enforcing OSHA rules, coordinating maintenance, and driving continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering preferred or related hands‑on experience.
• Minimum 3 years in a machine shop with supervisory/management responsibility.
• Proficiency in CNC programming CAM, CAD/CAM software, Mastercam, SolidWorks, CIMCO, and blueprint reading.
• Strong understanding of machining operations, metal properties, and tolerance control.
• Proven leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Knowledge of ASME Codes, ASNT, and NDT/NDE inspection preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations, staff, production schedules, safety compliance, and quality control of a machining facility.
• Manage daily production schedules, job queues, and machine allocation to meet delivery targets.
• Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate supervisors, machinists, and CNC programmers.
• Ensure parts meet tolerances and oversee first piece inspections.
• Enforce OSHA safety guidelines and shop housekeeping.
• Coordinate with maintenance on preventive maintenance, repair logs, and tooling inventory.
• Implement lean manufacturing, reduce setup/cycle times, and evaluate job profitability.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
