Job summary

Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry is seeking a Machining Process Engineer to join the engineering team on the Manitowoc shop floor. You’ll work with machinists, engineers, suppliers and leadership to troubleshoot and optimize machining across the operation, not just update spreadsheets.

You’ll troubleshoot problems, optimize feeds & speeds, quote machining for WAF castings and develop work holding for new projects. Collaboration and hands-on analysis are key.

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree required.
  • 3+ years of production machine-shop engineering experience.
  • Experience troubleshooting manufacturing problems.
  • Knowledge of CAM, PFMEA, Control Plans and dimensional inspection.
  • Ability to communicate with both engineers and machinists.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot machining problems and improve existing processes.
  • Optimize feeds & speeds for quality and throughput.
  • Quote machining for WAF castings.
  • Develop and approve work holding for new projects.
  • Evaluate machine tools, cutters and machining methods.
  • Support machining quality processes and systems.
  • Work with suppliers and help develop supplier capabilities.
  • Use data, technical knowledge and problem-solving to improve processes.
