Job summary

BrassCraft Manufacturing Company seeks a Machine Shop Supervisor to lead a high-volume operation, ensuring safe and efficient production. You will coordinate people, equipment, materials, and resources to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals.

You will supervise staff, promote safe practices, and drive continuous improvement while aligning with standard work and plant policies. Experience in machining, leadership, and problem-solving is essential for this role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years in machining or machine shop operations with hands-on experience with production equipment, tooling, setup and troubleshooting.
• 3+ years direct supervisory experience in manufacturing, including performance, training, assignments, safety and quality.
• Ability to read and interpret work instructions, schedules, technical specs, drawings, and operating data.
• Proficiency with email, spreadsheets, word-processing, and shop systems for scheduling, reporting, maintenance, quality, or inventory.

Responsibilities

• Leads daily machine shop operations to meet safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity expectations.
• Plans and assigns work based on production priorities, equipment capacity, material availability, staffing, and skill levels.
• Promotes a safe work environment by conducting safety discussions and ensuring procedures are followed.
• Supervises, coaches, and develops employees; sets performance expectations and provides feedback.
• Monitors production performance and addresses equipment, tooling, material, staffing, and process issues.
• Coordinates containment and corrective actions when results do not meet expectations.
• Coordinates with maintenance to support safe and efficient operations.
• Manages shift handoffs and communicates results, risks, and resource needs to plant leadership.
• Identifies continuous improvement opportunities to strengthen safety, quality, and productivity.
