Boyd Thermal by Eaton in Lancaster, PA is seeking a Machining Assistant to deburr components from CNC machining and perform final visual inspections to ensure parts meet aerospace and defense quality standards before shipping.
The role requires reading detailed work instructions, basic math, packing parts, and providing routine maintenance on equipment; candidates should be able to lift up to 70 lbs with help and work in a production environment.
The ideal candidate will deburr machined components produced in the CNC machining center and perform final visual inspections to ensure all parts meet quality standards before shipping to the customer. This role plays a critical part in maintaining the quality and precision of components used in aerospace and defense applications. Your attention to detail and commitment to excellence will have a direct impact on our operational success and customer satisfaction.
Ability to read and understand detailed work instructions and basic math skills. Work with Quality Control to ensure each part meets Boyd's Quality standard and pack them for shipping. Perform repetitive motion activities on a daily basis. Lift parts that may weigh up to 70 lbs. with assistance. Clean Parts using Crest Workstation. Completes shop floor traveler documents. Provide routine Maintenance on equipment. Work in the Production area as workloads require.

Preferred: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with no prior related experience and/or training necessary.
Ability to read and interpret documents in English such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to speak effectively to customers or employees of the company. Basic Math skills are required including Addition, Subtraction, Division and Multiplication. Ability to apply common sense and to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision.
