Job summary

empirical Foods is seeking a Machinist Trainee to develop skills in machining parts according to shop drawings. The role involves setting up and operating manual and CNC equipment, measuring material for accuracy, and maintaining a safe, clean work area in the Machine Shop.

You will learn to inspect parts for dimensions and tolerances, communicate issues, and may train in the QC Inspection department. High school diploma or equivalent is required, and entry-level fabrication experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required or ability to perform essential job functions.
• Good math skills and ability to read drawings/blueprints.
• Basic computer knowledge and proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Machine parts according to shop drawings; measure material for reference points and dimensions.
• Set up and program machining equipment; monitor for malfunctions and adjust as needed.
• Operate saws, grinders and other tools; maintain safety and cleanliness of the shop.
• Maintain tools and workspace; report abnormal operation or problems.
• Perform process inspection to verify measurements and tolerances.
• Complete assigned jobs on schedule per drawings; communicate issues clearly.
• Potential training in the QC Inspection department and coverage as needed.
• Perform all duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
