Job summary

Overton Industries is hiring a Machining Applications Engineer in Mooresville, IN. This role acts as the technical bridge between sales, project management, and the shop floor to own machining quotes, including methods, cycle times, tooling, and fixturing.

The ideal candidate has deep hands-on CNC experience, strong quoting skills, and is proficient with Mastercam and CAD tools, with a focus on improving quote accuracy and lead times.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; engineering degree or cert preferred.
• 5+ years CNC machining experience; quoting/estimating experience preferred.
• Mastercam experience strongly preferred; other CAM training acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Review RFQs, prints, and 3D models to develop accurate machining quotes.
• Provide methods, cycle times, tooling, and fixturing input for quotes.
• Collaborate with machinists and shop leadership to verify quoted times.
• Conduct time studies and analyze actual vs. estimated hours.
• Build standard quoting data for faster, repeatable quotes.
• Use Mastercam to evaluate toolpaths and estimate cycle times.
• Offer DFM feedback to reduce costs and lead time.
• Identify AI/automation opportunities in quoting and time study.
