Job description

Reporting to the Executive Director of Instruction and Student Services, the Advanced Manufacturing Customized Training Manager serves as Workforce and Economic Development's lead subject-matter expert for machining and advanced manufacturing training. The position manages customized employer-sponsored noncredit and credit-connected training for Honeywell and other companies, from needs assessment and program design through implementation and evaluation. The manager ensures that training solutions are responsive to employer requirements, aligned with MCC standards, and supported by the instructional and technical resources needed for successful delivery.

• Serve as Workforce and Economic Development's lead subject-matter expert for machining, CNC, and advanced manufacturing customized training.
• Manage employer-sponsored customized training from needs assessment and program design through implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
• Work with employers, Corporate College operations, credit instructors, and academic administrators to develop training plans and schedules that clearly identify classroom instruction, required laboratory time, and independent study or homework.
• Adapt and develop technical curriculum to address employer requirements while maintaining alignment with MCC instructional standards and applicable course expectations.
• Coordinate instructors, equipment, laboratories, materials, schedules, and timelines needed for successful training delivery.
• Teach noncredit advanced manufacturing training and, when qualified and approved, teach credit-bearing GIMM courses.
• Provide functional, non-supervisory technical guidance to instructors assigned to customized training.
• Coordinate with academic leadership when credit faculty, credit courses, laboratories, or academic equipment are used in customized training delivery.
• Monitor attendance, skill attainment, training progress, and employer outcomes; identify concerns and implement appropriate delivery adjustments.
• Resolve instructional, scheduling, equipment, laboratory, material, and other training-delivery issues in collaboration with appropriate stakeholders.
• Produce performance reports and communicate training progress, outcomes, and implementation needs to Workforce and Economic Development leadership and employer partners.
• Maintain collaborative employer relationships and support the development of responsive, high-quality advanced manufacturing training solutions.
• Carry out the customized-training role within established academic governance boundaries; the position does not lead the academic CIMM program, establish faculty workload, or exercise credit curriculum governance.
• Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associate's degree in Machining
• Five (5) yeas of experience

OR

• Associate's degree in Computer Integrated Machining and Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or Engineering Technology
• Ten (10) years of experience

OR

• A combination of a DOL-approved Tool and Die Maker apprenticeship
• Five (5) years of industry experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Well-developed knowledge of machining, CNC operations, and advanced manufacturing practices relevant to customized technical training.
• Knowledge of technical-instruction methods, curriculum development, and the adaptation of training to employer-specific needs.
• Knowledge of project and program management principles, including planning, scheduling, coordination, implementation, and evaluation.
• Knowledge of employer needs assessment and customized workforce-training design.
• Knowledge of specialized machining, CNC, laboratory, and instructional equipment relevant to assigned training.
• Knowledge of methods for monitoring attendance, skill attainment, training progress, and employer outcomes.
• Understanding of the distinction between customized-training coordination and academic program governance, including when to coordinate with academic leadership.
• Ability to teach technical content effectively in classroom and laboratory settings.
• Ability to develop clear training plans that integrate classroom instruction, laboratory practice, and independent learning expectations.
• Ability to coordinate instructors, equipment, laboratories, materials, schedules, and timelines across multiple stakeholders.
• Ability to provide technical guidance and coaching to instructors without direct supervisory authority.
• Ability to identify and resolve training-delivery issues in a timely and collaborative manner.
• Skilled in building and maintaining effective working relationships with employers, instructors, academic administrators, and Corporate College operations staff.
• Skilled in projecUprogram organization, logistics coordination, and follow-through.
• Skilled in analyzing training data, evaluating outcomes, and producing clear performance reports.
• Skilled in written, oral, and interpersonal communication sufficient to explain technical information, coordinate work, and convey training results.
• Skilled in utilizing computers, relevant software applications, and technology used to support advanced manufacturing instruction and reporting.

Physical Requirements:

Positions in this class typically require grasping, hearing, keyboarding, reaching, repetitive motion, standing, talking, visual acuity, and walking. The work is sedentary work which requires exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly.
