MACHINE OPERATOR

The Opportunity:
The Machine Operator is responsible for the efficient operation of the production machines during their shift, he or she will ensure the machines continue running by attending to the alarms as necessary, monitoring all feeding tubes and parts hoppers as well as all PLC's, motors, conveyors, and end operations equipment necessary to run safely and efficiently. The Machine Operator will be responsible for filling all hoppers and to ensure feeders do not run out of parts. The Machine Operator will troubleshoot as needed in order to successfully clear the alarm codes the machine displays and will ensure the assembly area is maintained in constant state of organization and cleanliness. In the absence of the Production Lead, this position reports to the Production Supervisor.

Duties and responsibilities are not limited to and are as follows:
- Perform all work in accordance with the highest standards of SKNA-Vitop safety policies, ensure all safety policies and processes are enforced.
- Successfully complete all essential training.
- Work directly with assembly room hoppers, feeders, vacuum loaders, and material conveyor systems.
- Perform alarm troubleshooting.
- Operate label printer.
- Fill out and maintains traceability log sheet for quality.
- Perform part inspections and various other functions to insure part conformity and quality.
- Generate documentation on changes that can be used to control traceability and ensure reproducibility.
- Follow established procedures in order to maintain a clean and organized environment.
- Adhere to lock-out tag-out policy and procedures.
- Preform all duties safely and efficiently.
- Work with all departments to meet daily tasks.
- Back up other team members, when necessary, regardless of department and as assigned by the Supervisor.
- Other duties as assigned.
What you need to succeed:
Education/Qualification/Experience
- High school education or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experiences in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include overtime and weekend assignments.
- Ability to work in a team environment and rotate jobs or shifts as needed.
- Experience with basic hand tools required.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Skilled in lifting heavy packages and objects.
- Skilled in operating pallet jacks.
- Skilled in problem solving.
- Basic reading and math.
- Basic computer skills (i.e., email, data entry).
- Basic administrative skills (i.e., filing, organization).
- Basic mechanical skills.
