Job summary

Smurfit Westrock is seeking a Machine Operator Assistant to support our 12-hour shift operations in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. You will stack corrugated products, perform quality checks, and assist with machine setup while maintaining a clean, safe workspace.

The role requires reading a tape measure, basic math, and comfortable handling up to 50 lbs. Prior manufacturing experience is preferred, and willingness to work rotating day/night shifts is essential.

Machine Operator Assistant

This role follows a 12-hour shift schedule with a rotation of 3 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on, 3 days off— providing a three-day weekend every other week, along with opportunities for overtime. MUST BE ABLE TO WORK ALL SHIFTS—DAY SHIFT OR NIGHT SHIFT AS ASSIGNED

The Opportunity:

• The General Laborer will safely perform a variety of tasks, including stacking corrugated products, conducting quality checks, completing material set-ups, and maintaining a clean and organized work area. Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, a desire to learn manufacturing processes, operate complex machinery, and grow within the company.

• Maintain a clean and safe work environment while adhering to all safety regulations.
• Read a tape measure and perform basic math and computer tasks.
• Physically perform tasks involving lifting or pushing/pulling up to 50 lbs, navigating stairs, and

standing, walking, bending, and kneeling for the full shift.

• Receive raw materials, assist team members with cleaning, machine setup, and operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned
