We are seeking a Machinery Engineer to support the reliability, performance, and maintenance of rotating equipment within a manufacturing facility in Baytown, TX. This is a highly visible, plant-facing role that requires a hands-on engineer who understands how equipment operates in a manufacturing environment and can effectively partner with Operations, Maintenance, Reliability, and Production teams to solve problems and improve equipment performance.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience with rotating equipment and compressors, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities within an operating facility. This position is focused on supporting day-to-day plant operations and reliability initiatives rather than large-scale capital projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for rotating equipment, including compressors, pumps, turbines, and associated systems.
- Troubleshoot equipment reliability and performance issues, identify root causes, and develop effective corrective actions.
- Work closely with Operations and Maintenance teams to improve equipment availability, reliability, and overall plant performance.
- Support preventive and predictive maintenance programs for rotating equipment.
- Lead and participate in equipment failure investigations and root cause analyses.
- Monitor equipment health, analyze performance data, and recommend improvements to optimize reliability.
- Manage multiple equipment-related projects and plant initiatives simultaneously while maintaining operational priorities.
- Develop technical recommendations, maintenance strategies, and equipment improvement plans.
- Utilize SAP for maintenance management activities, documentation, work orders, and equipment history reviews.
- Provide technical guidance during equipment repairs, turnarounds, and maintenance outages.
- Communicate effectively with production, engineering, maintenance, and leadership teams to ensure alignment and effective execution of solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related Engineering discipline.
- 8-15 years of experience supporting rotating equipment in a manufacturing or industrial facility.
- Strong expertise with compressors and general rotating equipment.
- Experience troubleshooting equipment issues in an operating plant environment.
- Experience supporting day-to-day manufacturing operations rather than primarily working on large capital projects.
- Working knowledge of reliability and maintenance best practices.
- SAP experience required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple departments.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities within a manufacturing facility.
