Job summary

Trivium Packaging in Youngstown is seeking a skilled engineer to lead and implement machine vision system design, changes, and best practices for Aerosol and Beverage categories. You will drive cross-functional improvements, advocate best-practice management, and boost productivity to maintain high quality at the lowest cost in the market.

The role also provides systems, methods, and training to ensure team members have the information, knowledge, and skills to deliver best-in-class machine

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related engineering strongly preferred; associate degree or technical certification with experience in quality and process improvement.
• Experience with camera vision systems and enforcing quality policies and procedures.
• Ability to lead, take charge and provide direction across functions.
• Strong communication skills to interact with coworkers, customers and vendors.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and SharePoint.
• Ability to draft and understand sequences of operations.

Responsibilities

• Works with technical leadership to drive cross-functional projects for assigned category and division.
• Drives productivity improvements and scrap reduction using continuous improvement tools and designs.
• Provides design solutions and training for center lining, pinning, and run-to-target processes.
• Implements standards for vision system and quality inspection measurements across Absorbent Hygiene divisions.
• Leads productivity projects and coordinates with plant personnel to hit targets.
• Provides system design expertise and training for all machine vision systems.
• Delivers service excellence and coordinates machine vision system projects within the division.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure materials and processes meet specs.
• Acts as an individual contributor or leader as required by business needs.
• Supports safe practices and environmental commitments per company policy.
• Develops CERs, budgets, and requisition recommendations as needed.
• Develops and delivers training programs for machine vision processes.
• Delivers machine vision objectives and content to meet business needs.
• Facilitates machine vision training workshops.
• Performs other duties as required.
