Job summary

Litehouse Foods in Danville, Virginia is hiring a Machine Technician I (Operator) to operate and maintain production machinery for the 3:00 p.m. – 11:30 p.m.

shift, with a pay range of $18.77–$20.86 per hour and additional shift differentials of $1.50/hr (2nd shift) and $3/hr (3rd/D/C shift). The role involves setting up, operating, adjusting machinery, performing changeovers, and performing basic preventive maintenance while adhering to food safety policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED strongly preferred.
• Must be mechanically inclined.
• Experience operating one production machine as defined at each plant or equivalent work experience.
• Strong verbal and written communications skills in the common language.

Responsibilities

• Operate and lead key machinery, striving for efficient output of quality products.
• Set up, operate and adjust machinery.
• Perform changeovers and washes that meet or exceed specifications.
• Maintain a clean work area and participate in housekeeping throughout the facility.

The Machine Technician I operates a minimum of one production machine in an area or department and performs basic preventative machine maintenance and troubleshooting.

What You'll Do

• Operate and lead key machinery, striving for efficient output of quality products.

What You Bring

• High School Diploma/GED Strongly Preferred.
• Mechanically inclined preferred.
• Fully trained and experienced in the operation of one production machine as defined at each plant and/or equivalent work experience.
• Must have strong verbal and written communications skills with ability to express ideas professionally, effectively and efficiently in the common language.
• Ability to establish & maintain effective working relationships with all contacts inside and outside of the company with strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Ability to multi-task, focus and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to frequently work overtime and weekends as necessary.
• Must be able to work scheduled shifts and meet attendance requirements.
