Burr OAK Tool Inc. in Michigan is seeking a Machine Technician 1 to build components and assemblies for a variety of machines with a quality mindset and in an efficient manner to ensure that the machines are ready for additional processing and finishing.

You will follow 5S practices, maintain safety, and work with drill presses, mills, lathes, and grinders to support assembly and finishing processes. Strong math, communication, and teamwork are essential for success.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Appropriate written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and determined to attain goals.
  • Documentation of a current drug screen must be provided prior to start date.
  • Ability to receive forklift license and learn to operate cranes and man-lifts.
  • Must have math skills and ability to utilize various measurement tools.
  • Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to get along with diverse personalities, tactful, mature, and flexible.
  • High energy level, comfortable performing multi-faceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble relatively simple machines and parts that are somewhat repetitive, using appropriate tools.
  • Remove burrs and rough surfaces from metal parts with hand tools and grinders.
  • Operate drill presses, mills, lathes, and grinders to assist in assembly.
  • Transport various assemblies as needed using forklifts and cranes.
  • Arrive at work on time and stay engaged during the shift.

Position: Machine Technician 1 Salary Grade: 3
Primary Purpose:

Build components and assemblies for a variety of machines with a quality mindset and in an efficient manner to ensure that the machines are ready for additional processing and finishing.
