Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and disassemble moderately complex machines.
  • Repair machines and equipment using hand and power tools.
  • Operate machines and tools to assist assembly operations.
  • Transport assemblies using forklifts and cranes.
  • Analyze blueprints and prepare parts for building operations.
  • Troubleshoot and test machines during and after assembly.
  • Verify conformance using calipers and micrometers.
  • Weld materials, machines, and parts as required.

Job description

Position: Machine Technician 2 Salary Grade: 4
Primary Purpose:

Construct machines and assemblies for final finishing with a quality mindset and in an efficient manner to ensure that the machines are ready for additional processing and completion.

  • Practice and encourage the best safety practices resulting in zero lost time within department.
  • Implement and practice effective 5S and participate in regular team 5S audits.
  • Set an example of working hard and doing the right things, exhibit energy and positivity.
  • Understand and achieve Reasonable Expectations (REs) for current position and responsibilities (excellent productivity and quality) and participate in regular team process audits.
  • Engage in clear, courteous, effective, honest, and open communications with team members and others within and outside the department and company.
  • Develop and seek positive relationships; actively participate in regular huddles and goal setting.
  • Accountable to follow established routines with appropriate supervision.
  • Solve issues through general instructions with some variations in sequence.

  • Produce and disassemble moderately complex machines independently.
  • Rebuild and repair machines and equipment using hand tools and power tools.
  • Operate various machines and tools to assist in assembly operations.
  • Transport assemblies and machines as needed using forklifts and cranes.
  • Analyze blueprints and schematics and prepare parts and assemblies for machine building operations.
  • Troubleshoot and test machines both during and after assembly.
  • Verify conformance of parts to blueprints using measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers.
  • Weld materials, machines, and parts as required.
Essential qualifications and skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proven ability to master machine technician 1 role.
  • Ability to receive forklift license and learn to operate cranes and man-lifts.
  • Must have math skills and ability to utilize various measurement tools.
  • Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to get along with diverse personalities, tactful, mature, and flexible.
  • Ability to remain calm and determined to attain goals.
  • High energy level, comfortable performing multi-faceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities.
  • Documentation of a current drug screen must be provided prior to start date.
