Job summary

Alexandria Industries is seeking an entry- to mid-level machinist to read and follow manufacturing orders and blueprints, perform quality inspections, and help fulfill customer orders accurately and efficiently. The role includes operating CNC machines, deburring, packing, and ensuring parts meet customer specifications.

Responsibilities

• Read and follow instructions on manufacturing orders and blueprints to ensure components meet product and customer design specifications.
• Perform quality inspections using precision measurement devices to ensure all parts meet specifications.
• Accurately and efficiently fulfill customer orders: review orders, verify specifications, ensure quality practices, and meet delivery schedules.
• Operate CNC machines as needed and provide machine shop support (deburring, tumbling, packing, assembly, punching, bending).
• Maintain department and company production goals and communicate with supervisors and shifts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure that safety is always the number one priority at Alexandria Industries; promote and support a safe work environment and safety oriented culture by following all safety programs and guidelines
• Read and follow instructions on manufacturing orders and blueprints to ensure that components meet product and customer design specifications
• Perform quality inspections using precision measurement devices to ensure all parts meet specifications
• Accurately and efficiently fulfill customer orders:
  • Review manufacturing orders in order to verify internal and external customer specifications
  • Ensure all quality practices are being followed
  • Set up and run equipment in order to make modifications to aluminum parts
  • Inspect the parts as required to ensure the parts meet customer quality specifications
  • Ensure proper deburring, in order to guarantee that no burrs or sharp edges are on any parts
  • Inspect the parts to ensure that no nylon residue is left on the parts after running through the equipment
  • Ensure parts are assembled according to customer specifications
  • Accurately punch and stamp parts according to customer specifications
  • Package orders based on customer specifications
  • Meet delivery schedules to ensure customer service and satisfaction
• Operate CNC machines as needed and perform all tasks in a safe and responsible manner in alignment with company policies
• Provide machine shop support; deburring, tumbling, packing, assembly, punching, bending, etc.
• Perform basic machine maintenance as needed; clean out chips, monitor coolant levels, etc.
• Follow all company initiatives in the areas of 5S, quick-response-manufacturing (QRM), and safety
• Communicate effectively with supervisor, team members and other shifts as needed to ensure efficient and successful completion of customer orders
• Maintain department and company performance and production goals
• Operate manual machining equipment as needed
• Cross train within the machine shop to learn and develop skills on a variety of machines and equipment

OTHER JOB DUTIES

• Perform all other related assignments (including special projects) as required in a professional and cooperative manner.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

1. Experience:
   • 1+ years of manufacturing experience preferred
