Job summary

LISI Aerospace North America is seeking an Evening Shift CNC Lathe Shop Supervisor to lead our CNC lathe operations on the second shift, overseeing machinists, ensuring quality and safety in an aerospace manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate has at least five years of hands-on CNC lathe experience and two years supervisory leadership, with strong blueprint reading and GD&T skills and a proven track record of meeting production deadlines.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on CNC lathe experience.
• Minimum 2 years supervisory experience in a machine shop.
• Aerospace manufacturing experience preferred.
• Solid understanding of blueprint reading, GD&T, and machining tolerances.
• Proficient with calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators.
• Strong problem‑solving, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of evening shift CNC lathe operators and machinists.
• Provide hands‑on technical support and troubleshooting for CNC lathe setups, tooling, and operations.
• Ensure production goals, quality standards, and delivery schedules are consistently met.
• Train, coach, and evaluate team members to enhance skill development and job performance.
• Monitor machine performance, coordinate preventive maintenance, and report equipment issues.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in accordance with company safety policies.
• Collaborate with quality assurance and engineering teams to address non‑conformances and implement process improvements.
• Enforce adherence to company policies, procedures, and aerospace manufacturing standards (e.g., AS9100).
• Accurately document production data, timekeeping, and shift reports.

• Ability to work independently and make effective decisions under pressure.
• High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate’s degree in machining or manufacturing preferred.

Working Conditions:

• Evening shift, Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend or overtime requirements based on production needs.
• Standing, walking, and operating machinery for extended periods.
