Job description

Job Title: Machine Shop Material Handler - 1st Shift

Job Requirements:

1. Safely remove metal chips, turnings, and solids from machines and place them in proper containers.
2. Verify that containers are clean and materials are separated by type.
3. Clean machines and surrounding areas to maintain safety and prevent material mixing.
4. Transport materials to designated storage locations, including verifying, sorting, weighing, and moving metal chips, solids, and chip boxes.
5. Operate a power forklift safely to transport materials, dies, parts, fixtures, equipment, and castings.
6. Set up and operate automatic cutoff saws, measure and record dimensions, and maintain saw output quality.
7. Perform general labor and housekeeping duties.
8. Maintain communication with machine operators and team members, and coordinate work priorities with supervisors.
9. Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy loads.
10. Availability for overtime on short notice.
