Job summary

Machine Shop Maintenance Mechanic at MKS Instruments, Inc. maintains and services critical shop machinery to keep operations safe and efficient, reporting to the Operations Manager.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with hands-on mechanical experience in manufacturing or machine shop.
• Small engine repair experience helpful
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals; proficient with hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
• Commitment to OSHA regulations and PPE safety (glasses, hearing protection, steel-toe boots)

Responsibilities

• Preventive maintenance: perform service checks, replace fluids and coolants, lubricate moving parts, replace worn filters/belts.
• Troubleshooting and repair: diagnose mechanical, pneumatic, or electrical issues; dismantle equipment; replace damaged components.
• Calibration: adjust and test machinery to meet precise operating and safety standards.
• Record keeping: maintain logs of maintenance tasks, inspections, and parts used.
• Shop upkeep: keep tools, work areas, and safety equipment clean and organized.
