Dominion Technologies Group in Roseville, MI is seeking a seasoned Machine Shop Supervisor for a high‑mix, low‑volume environment. This hands‑on leadership role offers real ownership of the floor and a direct line to the Manufacturing Manager, shaping processes, tooling strategy and people development.

You will lead machinists and operators, balance safety, quality and delivery, and drive continuous improvement in machining, setups and cycle times while tracking KPIs and maintaining inventory.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on machining experience, including 5+ years supervising or managing a machine shop, ideally in a custom, job shop or high-mix/low-volume environment
• Strong working knowledge of CNC mills and lathes, setups, tooling, workholding, and machine maintenance needs
• Expert blueprint and shop print reading, including GD&T
• Proficiency with precision measuring instruments and inspection methods
• Proven track record of improving throughput, quality or cost through process and tooling improvements
• Experience scheduling and prioritizing work to meet delivery commitments in a fast-changing environment
• Solid computer skills, including ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office
• Strong leadership, communication and coaching skills with the ability to build a high-performing, accountable team

Responsabilités

• Lead and develop the team: Supervise, coach and mentor machinists and operators; build skill depth and cross-training so the shop can flex across job types
• Own shop performance: Balance safety, quality, delivery, cost and morale; set clear daily priorities and hold the team accountable to measurable results
• Schedule a high-mix job flow: Sequence and prioritize jobs released from processing/engineering, balancing machine capacity, setups, rush orders and due dates to protect on-time delivery
• Drive continuous improvement: Lead improvements in machining processes, setup reduction, workholding, tooling and cycle times using Lean and problem-solving methods
• Manage metrics and visual controls: Track and report department KPIs and provide regular performance updates and recommendations
• Control materials, tooling and inventory: Plan and order raw materials and tooling to support the schedule, maintain inventory levels and seek cost savings
• Champion safety: Model and enforce safe work practices, lead a clean and organized shop floor, and act quickly on hazards and near misses
• Uphold quality: Ensure adherence to quality system requirements, support first-article and in-process inspection, and lead root-cause and corrective action on nonconformances
• Partner across the business: Work with engineering, programming, quality and sales on manufacturability and quotes
