Pregis Corporation in Sussex, WI is seeking a Machine Setup Technician to keep our converting equipment running safely and efficiently. You will set up, troubleshoot, and support equipment, perform quality checks, and minimize downtime to maximize production output in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up and start converting equipment to support daily production schedules.
• Prepare machines with the appropriate film, materials, and components for production.
• Perform quality checks to verify setup and product specifications.
• Operate production equipment when setup activities are complete.
• Identify and resolve basic machine issues to minimize downtime.
• Monitor equipment performance and address operational concerns.
• Collaborate with maintenance, supervisors, and leads for advanced repairs.
• Monitor gas tank levels and other support systems for uninterrupted production.
• Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).
• Operate material handling equipment safely.
• Support a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Assist teammates and collaborate across shifts to keep production running smoothly.

As a Setup Technician, you'll play a critical role in keeping our production operation running efficiently and safely. You'll be responsible for setting up, troubleshooting, and supporting converting equipment to minimize downtime, ensure product quality, and maximize production output. This is a hands‑on position ideal for mechanically inclined individuals who enjoy solving problems and working in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

What You'll Do

• Set up and start converting equipment to support daily production schedules.
• Prepare machines with the appropriate film, materials, and components needed for production.
• Perform quality checks to verify proper machine setup and product specifications.
• Operate production equipment when setup activities are complete and machines are running efficiently.
• Identify and resolve basic machine issues to minimize downtime.
• Monitor equipment performance and proactively address operational concerns.
• Partner with maintenance, supervisors, and team leads when more advanced repairs are required.
• Monitor gas tank levels and other equipment support systems to ensure uninterrupted production.
• Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) requirements.
• Safely operate electric pallet jacks, roll lifts, hoists, and other material handling equipment.
• Support a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Assist teammates and collaborate across shifts to keep production running smoothly.

What We're Looking For

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 60 pounds unassisted.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to bend, twist, reach, and stoop throughout the workday.

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 3+ years of manufacturing experience.
• 1+ years of setup technician or machine setup experience.
• Process control or production equipment experience.
• Mechanical, maintenance, or industrial troubleshooting background.
