Job summary

Amcor is seeking a machine operator to support Healthcare Packaging by operating equipment and producing orders to quality standards. The role covers setting up three machine groups, documenting logs, and maintaining safety while training on the rest.

Strong mechanical and math skills, plus manufacturing experience, are valued. The position offers a 2nd shift schedule with competitive pay ($25.06–$30.30 starting range) and a $1.00 shift differential.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education recommended.
  • Related manufacturing experience helpful.
  • Ability to read measuring tools (caliper, micrometer) and document data.
  • Good written and verbal communication; strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

  • Set up equipment to meet production schedules and quality standards.
  • Document setup and production logs accurately.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and request resources as needed.
  • Maintain equipment through preventive maintenance and minor repairs.
  • Monitor run conditions and improve efficiency.
  • Handle materials to sustain continuous machine runs.
  • Maintain a safe, clean work environment and wear PPE.
  • Assist in Lean Six Sigma initiatives and continuous improvement.

Job description

ROLE OVERVIEW

Support Amcor Healthcare Packaging by operating machines to produce customer orders efficiently and to quality standards.

SCHEDULE
  • 2nd shift: Monday - Thursday (3:30pm - 12:00am) and Friday (4:00pm - 12:30am)
Compensation

The starting salary for this position is expected to be $25.06; however, starting pay offered may vary depending on the job-related knowledge, skills, and experience between $25.06 and $30.30. Additional shift differential at $1.00 per hour.

What You Get To Do
  • Meets production schedules by setting up equipment to manufacture product meeting quality requirements at target production rates.
  • Documents action by completing set-up sheets and production logs.
  • Resolves production problems by altering process to meet specifications, notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources.
  • Maintains specifications by observing operations or responding to job assist request and making necessary adjustment.
  • Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
  • Ensures production efficiency by monitoring and improving run conditions.
  • Maintains continuity of machine run by performing material handling duties as necessary.
  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Ability to set-up three out of eight machine groups properly and efficiently while training on remainder.
  • Promotes teamwork and effective working relationships among all contacts by setting positive examples.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
  • Responsible for working safely and maintaining a safe work environment; attends required training, identifies and reports hazards; wears required PPE for position; and is accountable for self as well as co-worker safety.
  • Participates in and/or supports continuous improvement initiatives and knowledge in facilitating Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
